The ID used for the social media tabs facebook widget is the ID of your facebook page.
If you dont know your facebook page ID logon to your facebook account and make sure that you switch to “Use facebook as a page” under the “Account” options in the menu.
When you are redirected to your facebook page check the URL in the browser address bar. The ID is the number at the end of the URL:

hey mate,
thanks for the great plugins.
the facebook tab doesnt work, im using the correct id, no doubt, but it still says
“Could not retrieve id for the specified page. Please verify correct href was passed in.”
it is most definitely the correct ID – any suggestions?
Hi,
The error only appears if the ID is incorrect. Make sure you are using a page ID and not a profile ID
My FB page address is facebook.com/andeandrift. I enter andeandrift as the ID in the widget and get the following error: Could not retrieve id for the specified page. Please verify correct href was passed in.
What am I doing wrong? I read the comments above, and tried pasting the number from the old insights URL. That didn’t work either. The new insights page url is andeandrift, too.
Also, having no luck with google+ id either.
Hi,
The ID should be a number. Try going into your profile edit and see if this appears in the URL
Lee, thanks for the response. Unfortunately, I’m in Vietnam right now where Facebook is blocked, so I’ll have to wait til I get out of here in a couple of weeks to try it. I’ll let you know how it goes.
I’m having trouble with this, too. My facebook pages have custom urls now and no longer have the numbers. I cannot find any way to get back to the numbers or find them anywhere, so how do I make this work?
Hi,
Try: http://www.designchemical.com/blog/index.php/faq/getting-your-facebook-id-using-your-facebook-username/
Hello,
I just started my own FB page and have the IDhttp://www.facebook.com/pages/Hyland-Graphic-Design-Advertising/305384726177032. I go to the widget and just plug in 305384726177032 and all I get is a blank box.I have tried the full URL, id then the number and just the number and no matter what…. same thing, nothing. ANy suggestions? Totally frustrated. Thanks!
Hi,
The ID 305384726177032 works OK for me
My facebook and Google+ parts of the widget are blank, even though I was able to find and add my IDs. The twitter portion was working fine, but now says there’s no response from twitter. Also, the RSS icon is now gone.
Is this widget buggy or did I do something wrong?
Thanks!
If it was buggy it would have been fixed obviously.
Seems like you may have problems – check if there are any javascript errors using firebug as this may prevent the tabs from forming correctly.
No response from twitter is due to the limit twitter places on using their API – currently maximum of 150 calls per hour – this maximum includes all calls to all widgets that use the twitter API on sites that you have visited. Other visitors will see the tweets since this is specific to your browser
this plugin is great, but i cant get the facebook part to work. it just shows up blank. i got the ID correct, but nothing shows up. any ideas?
Hi,
Facebook like box appears to be working ok now?
idsToEntNames: {“224773704256722″:”R.E.A.L.”}
I dug this up digging thru the source code of the page and I still have nothing!
Hi thanks for the plugin.
I am having trouble with the fb part. twitter worked right away. I have found and entered the ID number for my FB page but there are no posts showing or like link buttons. help!
Hi,
You facebook appears to be OK now?
Hi Lee!
First of all thanks a lot for this useful plugin.
But I have a little pb, I don t see fields for the scial profiles ID, I have all the IDs but don t know where to put them, if there is some help, I would appreciate it. Thanks again.
Hi,
The profile IDs are inserted into the widget control panel when you set up the actual tabs in the widget admin area
You are trying to create a like box for a facebook profile – they can only be used on facebook pages
Your youtube ID is invalid – usually youtube profile names arent email addresses
I *lurve* this plugin!! Thank you for making it
I was able to get my ID by clicking on “View Insights” on the right side of the page. There is a string of numbers that appear after the underscore and that’s the ID.
I should clarify that it’s on the right side of the business page. ~ Jen
HI,
Thanks for the info and feedback. Glad you like the plugin
As mentioned above, I have a facebook page (facebook.com/yobucko) and there is no ID associated with it once I claimed my page. Was there any work around for this? I can’t seem to find the ID for my account on Facebook, so I’m a little lost. Thanks for the plugin.
Hi,
See FAQ – Getting your facebook ID using your facebook username
Hi…great plugin, thank you!! Can you give me a hand, here? I don’t understand “make sure that you switch to “Use facebook as a page” under the “Account” options in the menu”. I don’t see anything remotely resembling that in my Account Settings. Could this be because of the recent changes in Facebook? If so, can you post new instructions? Thank you!
Hi,
Do you have a facebook page set up? This is not the same as a facebook profile. Example of a page:

Hi,
I just installed your plugin which was exactly what I was looking for. However, I am having an issue with Facebook. We just a “page”, but there is no Facebook ID associated that I can find. When I go there it just shows our “name”. Thanks for your help!
Hi,
When you login with one of the page admin and go to the page does it not show any ID?
No, it just shows the actual URL.
Can not seem to get the facebook tab working, which will be linked to the fact that I can not find my ID.
I followed your instructions above but when I click on view as page I am presented with the fan pages I have created so can not see the number you talk of.
Any suggestions?
hi,
dont view as a page. you need to check the ID number of your profile
Hello,
First off – nice plugin. I do how ever have a question. I am building on buddypress and require the plugin to be able to handle more than one different person, so basicly every one that join’s the site must be able to see there own facebook and the rest. Is this posible ?
Many Thanks,

Hi,
Not with the current plugin since it only allows for one facebook iD – unless buddypress allows for multiple installations of one plugin?
